New Locations Coming Soon Across The UK

Monterey Jack's Good Deeds Programme

In March 2024, we launched our new Good Deeds programme. Our on-going commitment is to help local good causes and charities in the communities where our restaurants are located.

To date, we have provided more than £500k of support in the form of financial payments, manpower, and food aid to charities and groups across Scotland and the wider UK. In recognition of the work carried out, Monterey Jack’s was presented with the ‘Point of light’ award by the UK Government for charitable achievements during the Covid-19 pandemic. Today we continue the good work and with the assistance of our fantastic customers there is much more we want to do.

To help us identify and support the causes and groups that really need our support the most, we have launched our project to attract nominations from our customers. Every request and nomination is assessed on a individual basis by our team.

If you are part of a charity or group that could really benefit from our support, or you would like to nominate one, please send us an email explaining the reasons for your request and how we could help to: charitablegiving@monterey-jacks.com

Whether it’s a food bank, a local under-funded charity, a fund-raising project for good causes or any charity struggling to cope in difficult times – we’d love to hear from you and add them to our list of potential beneficiaries. We add a nominal £1 to each table – whether it’s 2 people or 20 people on a voluntary basis – to help fund this programme. Without the generosity of our customers, our charitable giving programme would not be half as impactful and for this we are very grateful to all who participate and give back.

Monterey Jack’s hits £100k target for Cash for Kids!

(UPDATE: Since this post was published, Monterey Jack’s has provided more than £140k to Cash for Kids. June 2024)

Monterey Jack’s American dining restaurant and cocktail bar have announced their fundraising efforts for Cash for Kids across all their Scottish restaurants. Their aim was to raise £100K to support local disadvantage children and they have exceeded this.

All restaurants across Scotland have been asking customers to donate a pound onto their bill, the staff have also been participating in Cash for Kids pillar campaigns such as Cash for Kids Day, Mission Christmas, and also in The Kiltwalk which helped them reach this incredible amount of £130,000!

Scott Abercrombie, Chief operating officer at Monterey Jacks said: “We are totally thrilled to have reached our target – exceeding £130k for our amazing charity partner! We wish to express a heartfelt thanks to the generosity of our awesome customers and of course to our entire team for their work and dedication helping us to meet our pledge…And – we will continue our efforts, as always on behalf of all the good causes we support and hopefully over the next year exceed this amount for our wonderful friends at Cash For Kids and all those in Scotland they support!”

Grace Reilly, Regional Charity Manager at Radio Clyde Cash for Kids, said: “Child poverty in Glasgow and the West of Scotland is at its highest and through the support of corporates like Monterey Jack’s asking customers to donate a pound on the bill, we’re able to ensure children living in some of the most disadvantaged areas receive food and activities throughout the school holidays”

What we have been up to lately…

Throughout Covid, MJ’s has delivered tens of thousands of meals and treats throughout the nation. Our charity programmes utilised our kitchens, drivers and infrastructure to help tens of thousands of people and good causes. We began with our “soup project” to help those who were vulnerable or self-isolating by delivering free soup and bread products to their homes. We then initiated “coffee for heroes” delivering fresh coffee and snacks to frontline workers in care homes, NHS and emergency services.

Next project was our NHS meals programme, where we delivered burgers and sides to overwhelmed NHS staff. And finally we initiated our Frontline Support Services initiative – delivering baked goods to anyone who need our support by nomination on our social media pages. We continued these initiatives throughout and continue to this day.

We were recognised on Britain’s Got Talent as well as national press and ultimately received the ‘point of light award’ by the government for our good deeds throughout Covid.
